Described as a “chic truffle mushroom cr?me,” it’s a unique modern neutral.?There’s a “grown up” (but not old) feel about Sophie that I love — to me, she’s soft-spoken, yet confident and statement-making without trying too hard.

Sophie seems to get her coloring from the Fall 2012 Trina Turk Salon Dress. Perhaps the colors are different in person, but Sophie is, in natural light, that mid-tone grey shade and beige on the dress mixed together.
It tends to lean more grey or beige depending on the lighting, making it as fun to observe as a duo-chrome polish in my cr?me-loving opinion.

Smokey/dusty colors never looked as good as I hoped they would because their grey cast made my hands look dull (they seem to look great with cooler or pale/dark tones). Sophie has enough beige underneath the grey to complement warmer and mid-tone complexions. You’ll love this if you like mushroom shades, but will still find it unique as it isn’t an obvious brown.

You’ll find that the quality of Sophie is right on par with Julep’s usual cr?mes. Since most are opaque, many can manage a perfect manicure in a single coat, but I had to apply 2 for the most even coverage. It dries a hair darker than the bottle color as usual.
I’d recommend this color if you’re looking for a neutral without going for straight beige or mannequin hands, found many dusty/smokey colors to be too cool-toned, or like mushroom-y shades without the brown hue. This is a lovely understated, yet unique option for fall.
