Oh yes, I did. A bikini with a?Bikini. No creativity points for this peach.
The re-launch of previously very limited?Dior Saint-Tropez?may have taken the spotlight?in this summer’s Croisette Collection (released in April!), but Bikini still proved itself to be one of my favorites this season for both tips and toes. We’re spoiled with many choices of coral nail polishes on the market, yet Bikini is without twins in my stash.
And even if it did have a doppelg?nger — ?really, can you ever have too much coral?

Dior Bikini?is a peachy coral cr?me. This lenience to peach-pink with an orange undertone gives it a beach vacation feel. I’ve heard many describe this as a muted, dusty color, which made me uninterested in it prior to my purchase as I expected a greyed out coral. It turns out to be much brighter and juicier on the nails, especially with the help of a top coat. I agree that it’s not a bright, neon coral, but it’s still a statement-making shade.

The result is a cr?me finish with Dior’s signature hidden shimmer, but there is a slight translucency like a semi-jelly; it’s why it appears more muted in the bottle. It’s a deeper, brighter, shinier shade once applied. I honestly don’t love the color in the bottle as it look like an old, faded coral, but I’m glad I tried it since it’s instant love on the nails.

The sun really warms up the color and brings out its orange side under bright sunlight. Flecks of microshimmer adds to the shine.
It’s not as pink as?Dior Psychedelic Orange?(which is definitely not orange despite the name), and not as orange as?CHANEL Orange Fizz. Bikini is a yummy color that falls between the two!
If you gave?Bikini?a pass because, like me, you don’t love the greyed-out coral you see in the bottle, do give this a test! I can’t emphasize enough that I didn’t love it until I wore it and saw how much of a juicier peachy coral it is once applied.

It is definately your color! I’m now very curious how it’d look on my nails. Been thinking about adding more red to my collection.

You should give it a test the next time you’re near a counter or Sephora! I think it’s flattering on many skin tones.
What kind of reds do you like and own so far? I own mostly limited edition reds, so perhaps others here can chime in on their favorites?

I know I loved Bikini when I wore it, although I can’t really remember what it looked like on anymore! I’m not *super* into corals (I like them, they’re just not my faves), so I really bought Bikini to have both of the Croisette polishes more than because I was dying to have it (terrible, I know, but there was also a 15 or 20% off sale!), but I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. Maybe in a few years I’ll get around to wearing it again, hahaha!

So many untrieds, so little time! I know my older polishes especially get neglected since I don’t have them out on display like many do and I can’t see all the colors I have in one go.
A sale on Dior polishes? I thought those only happened in dreams! No worries, I have a collector mentality when it comes to them, too!
