Although the extravagant Christmas decorations that adorn storefronts and streets will have you fooled, it’s actually not officially a holiday today in Japan. But that doesn’t mean we don’t love the day as a sort of non-religious cultural celebration. We’ve even adapted it to suit our national sweet-tooth; we have something called “Christmas cake,” just like a birthday cake, but embellished with Christmas-themed frostings and edible decorations. The celebration centers around this cake that is usually purchased (in many cases, reserved well in advance) from a cake shop.
No, I don’t have themed nail art with reindeers or snowflakes on my nails, but I’m wearing something I thought looked like a snow-flecked tree: Julep’s suede nail polish in Hailee. I’ve been wearing it a lot this month, actually, and have been loving it even more when I found it matched the color and texture of one of my bags.
I hope you have a Merry Christmas! (Or Hanukkah or Kwanzaa or whatever you celebrate this festive season!)
And of course, let me?know what’s on your nails.

Hello Peach! Thanks for the Christmas wishes; I’m having a lovely holiday so far. We always have a real tree and sit around our living room opening presents in front of a big fire. Later we’ll have a big dinner. I really thought about wearing gold on my nails for Christmas because gold is the MOST festive color to me but when it came time to do my nails I changed my mind. So I’m wearing OPI The Spy Who Loved Me instead–I know red for Christmas is a very boring choice but we’ll call it classic . Naturally, Santa brought me some nail polish: Chanel Malice and Deborah Lippmann’s “The Millionaire’s Holiday” giftset. We even have the dog in her Christmas outfit!

Hi Julia! Sounds like you’re having a lovely Christmas. Your living room must smell amazing and cozy with the real tree and from the fire log. Totally envious. You can’t go wrong with red nails — I say it’s classic, too. I was really tempted by all the cool colors in the Skyfall collection. Did you pick up other shades?
I just looked up The Millionaire’s Holiday set and wow, those colors are stunning! I didn’t even know about them! You must have been very good this year.

This is sooooo pretty! I’m wearing the holiday combo from an indie American brand called Pretty and Polished. It’s a raspberry holo and the topper is red and green glitter. Cute
