Ahh, Saint-Tropez. Located on the French Riviera, the town is well-known as a glamourous summertime destination. In June of this year, Dior opened a pop-up store at this luxurious Mediterranean fishing port. The fashion house specially created a very limited edition nail polish color in celebration of the opening, appropriately named after its locale.
Dior says this blue is a portrayal of the crystalline blue water of Saint-Tropez. I am absolutely head over toenails?heels?for this shade! Doesn’t it make you want to lay back by the water in a bikini with a cold drink in hand?

Dior Saint-Tropez is a light, vibrant blue creme with a green tint. It can look more blue or green depending on the lighting; in the shade, it appears more blue, but when direct sunlight hits, its green tone comes alive. As you can see, the color is much more vibrant on the nails compared to the paler, more subtle bottle color.
Like most Dior cremes, there is hidden micro-shimmer that is visible under bright light. It provides subtle depth and shine to a finish that could otherwise appear flat.

With this stunning, unique blue comes a downside: it is unusually thick and difficult to apply, a rarity for Dior Vernis. I found it so dry and thick that I had to apply about 10 drops of thinner before it became manageable. Yet, I found it to be patchy and streaky and it required more care and patience than with other Dior cremes. I do wonder if its difficult formula has something to do with the blue pigment.
2 coats was still enough for full opacity, however. I highly recommend a glossy topcoat of your choice to even out the finish. Despite the difficulties in application, I am in love with the end result, and the blue tone feels so refreshing.
Saint-Tropez was limited edition at select Dior boutiques and on Dior.com, and is unfortunately no longer available. I hope Dior brings out a similarly fashionable blue in the future since this is now one of my favorite Dior Vernis.
P.S. I’m leaving for Taiwan tomorrow for a one-week vacation! I won’t have any nail polish posts during that time, but I will get right back into manicures once I’m back. For my trip, I’ll be wearing Dior Safari Beige — something neutral that’s appropriate in any setting, and if they chip, they will be less noticeable. I’ll most likely sport Saint-Tropez on my toes .

Hi, Kim! It really does look like Tiffany blue. I wish companies would come out with their own logo/company colors in nail polish form. Thanks for reading and leaving me a comment!
